Make a Handprint Mardi Gras Mask With Your Kids!
Mardi Gras is right around the corner, and what would be more fun than making your own Mardi Gras mask with your children? With just a few materials, your children can make your very own masks and celebrate in style.
What you need:
- Construction paper or craft foam
- Pen or pencil
- Straw or popsicle stick
- Pipe cleaners (optional)
- Items to decorate your mask, like makers, paint, glitter, feathers, etc.
Place your child’s hand on a piece of construction paper or craft foam and trace their hand. Trace both hands so you have two hands and then cut out both hands. Tape together the two hands in the middle (see photo as guide) and cut out eye holes. Have your child decorate the mask as they wish and then attach it to the straw or popsicle stick. If you wish, you can wrap pipe cleaners around the straw or popsicle stick before parading in style.
